In May 2022, the Materials Innovation and Recycling Authority (“MIRA”) submitted a Closure Plan to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (“DEEP”) for its Hartford Waste–to-Energy Facility. DEEP requested additional information concerning the closure plan in October 2022, and provided comments from the Hartford Flood Commission at that time. The Authority responded in January 2023. DEEP requested additional information in January of 2024 and the Authority responded in February of 2024.
