The Materials Innovation and Recycling Authority ("MIRA") submitted a Closure Plan to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection ("DEEP") for its Hartford Waste–to-Energy Facility. Click here for more information:
MIRA's Resource Recovery Facility provides enough electricity to the grid to power more than 35,000 homes.
Please make note of the MIRA TOWN Meeting scheduled for March 16, 2022 at 10A.M. (via Zoom).
The meeting is expected to be no more than an hour and will provide a status update on the transformation of the MIRA disposal operations from Hartford located Trash to renewable energy to export for disposal in landfills.
MIRA Management will be available to answer your questions, in particular inquiries regarding the proposed MSA amendment ( consideration requested by March 30) and inquiries regarding towns’ option to exit the Municipal services Agreement (opt-out window closes on March 28th).
